Put your passion for teaching to work! The Teacher of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) will perform activities involved in hosting a classroom of adult students; administering class assignments, tests and assessments, conversation practice, homework assignments, etc.
If you want to be involved in aiding teachers for our English classes, consider becoming a Teaching Assistant. This position supports the ESOL Teacher during classes with administration of attendance records, course material, assignments and more.
Engage in the lives of refugees by caring for their children! As a Childcare Assistant, you will provide care for young children during classes or special events.
If you have strong administrative skills, we need you! As an Administrative Assistant, you will perform various administrative and office support activities for the AALC Director and other volunteer staff.
Are details your passion? Are you gifted in hosting? You might be our next Event Planner! The Event Planner will be in charge of every facet of meetings and events. Collaborate with AALC Director, volunteer staff, and AALC Pastoral Network to work out event details including: venues, food, speakers, entertainment, transportation and cleanup.
Do you speak Arabic or another world language? If so, consider putting your skills to work to change the lives of refugees in Dallas. The Language Translator will be utilized in English Classes, AALC events, and other special uses.
Our refugees need your wheels! Most participants in our program do not have transportation that is vital for their success. Consider becoming a Transportation Driver for our weekly classes and special events.
Becoming an American Citizen is very exciting for our students. If you have interest in helping refugees achieve this monumental goal join our team as a Citizenship Assistant. You will help with US citizenship requirement education, conversation practice, and aid the application process.
